Just an Average Evening at the Coleman's

As you all know, Alex is a fantastic cook and cooks most of our meals. Every once in a while he surprises me with something exciting and it just happened the other night. Koobideh is one of our favorite meals. When we first moved here we found this great Persian restaurant, Caspian, and enjoyed delicious meals there. The koobideh is a typical Persian kabob, and sooooo good! We were so sad when Caspian closed for good and went without koobideh for over a year. Until one day this spring when Alex did some internet research and found the recipe. We were so excited, and he has been perfecting his koobideh. It was good from the first time, so I'm loving being a tester! OK, back to the other night. A night like any other, I was trying to feed the children and get them bathed and in bed while Alex was cooking. I wasn't really paying attention to him or what he was doing, just trying to get the children down. He called me to dinner before I was able to get Chisolm down, so I just finished feeding him and decided I would give him a bath after dinner. I finally came into the dining room to set the table and couldn't find the mats, etc. I went to ask him where they were and he told me to check the patio...it was beautiful! He had set the table on the patio with candles and a delicious dinner. The weather was perfect--we've had a bit of a cool spell here lately, and it was really beautiful:
How sweet and romantic!

Alex was all smiles!

Little man wasn't quite ready for bed, so he joined us for our dinner. He hung out in his bouncy seat and we all just enjoyed the beautiful night, the dinner, and the company!
What a cutie pie!

Needless to say, dinner was fantastic. We had so much fun. Alex really knows how to make a gal feel special!
