Baby Maddie

Baby Maddie is here! We were all so excited to welcome Madeline Carol Balthrop with her proud mama and pops: Katie and Paul, and big brother John John. Here are some pictures of the precious little wonder:

John John made his new baby sister a birthday cake to celebrate her arrival. Here John John, Maddie's daddy, and Louisa are singing Happy Birthday to baby Maddie!

We had such a fun time at the Balthrops and can't believe that they were able to get it together enough to have a little party just days (literally--Maddie was only 3 days old!) after Maddie was born. I loved getting to hold Maddie. It was amazing to see how much Chisolm has grown in 4 short months. Maddie is the same size Chisolm was when we was born and he looks HUGE next to her! Hope to get a picture of the 2 of them on here together soon...

The Forrest Spence Fund

Brittany and David Spence are an amazing couple. They had their beautiful son, Robert Forrest Spence, in September of 2007. Sadly, due to an infection, Forrest lived only 55 days. To honor their son's life and the impact he had on so many people, Brittany and David have created the Forrest Spence Fund. The mission of the Forrest Spence Fund is to assist with the non-medical needs of critically and chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South.

Brittany and David are a truly inspirational couple who have taken the heartbreak they have experienced from losing their son and have found a way to give back to a hospital that fought for Forrest and to reach out to families who are going through a similar experience.

Please check out the Forrest Spence Fund website listed above and consider a donation or consider participating in the 4th annual Forrest Spence 5k, 8:00am, Aug. 27th, 2011, at Overton Park. If you will not be in Memphis on August 27th or do not live here, you can still participate by being a "ghost runner" or by making a monetary donation.
