Work Work Work!

Alex (Louisa, Chisolm,) and I have been working on several different projects to get this house ready to go on the market and oh my goodness, have we been working hard!  We probably took on too much, but I can't believe how great it all looks--I just wish we had done it years ago so we could enjoy it.  At least we will get to for the next few months.  Here are some pictures of us working, the house, and our sweet babies who put up with being stuck in and around the house for the last month.
Installing new flashing!
Louisa and Chisolm pitched in as well!

Night time was when we had to work most of the time.
Alex removed the flashing around the back and side of the house
Thank goodness we have worked through the fear of the vacuum!

This is what our back yard looked like for a few weeks

Alex re-glazed the kitchen windows--WOW, wish he had done that years ago!

I learned how to caulk!

I got picture-lists to run errands while Alex worked

Alex painting the new flashing

Painting the windows

The paint sprayer is AWESOME!

Large area not painted...

bye bye unpainted wood!

Need to wear a mask when painting in any type of enclosed area

No windows for a week (and we had a cold spell that week!)

More painting.  I'm holding a "gutter-guard" to keep paint off the roof

Painting booth from the inside (kitchen)

Painting booth from the outside (you can't paint & glaze in the rain and freezing cold!)

Another shot of the painting booth

Painting in the booth

Newly Painted windows from the inside

Alex setting up the indoor painting booth

The stands holding up the "roof" of the painting booth in the kitchen

Glazing the windows

Caulking the window

House taped and ready to paint

Just another view of the house ready to paint

Alex priming some areas before we break out the paint sprayer again

Working hard into the night (again!)
Our chickadees were so patient with us while we worked hard to get the house
ready!  Warmer weather that allowed picnics and the like were helpful!

Scrubbing the walls--we needed all the help we could get!

And the baseboards!

Little man helped out too! (in his sissy's shoes)

The window would NOT open--Alex got serious...

Yes, the ivy grew into the screen windows.  Alex's AMAZING
idea--shave the grips down, then pull out the ivy.  IT WORKED
and was 10 million times easier than trying to pull it
out first without tearing the screen!

Cleaning up the patio

Little man--Big helper!

Playing with the hose (Louisa was about
to squirt us--love that I caught that look!)

Watering whatever she was allowed to

THANK YOU SAFARI MAT!

Watering the plants in his "soggy" (froggy) boots

Such a cutie!

Louisa "growing" flowers

Seriously--he was in this activity mat for hours upon hours while we worked on the house and couldn't have been happier!

STILL SMILING!
PS: One thing I HATE about blogger is that I can't arrange the pictures the way I want to.  I'll spend forever moving pictures and suddenly something happens and they jump all over the place.  Ah well, you get the point, it just isn't as pretty as I would like (hence why I usually post large pictures, but this post was way too photo loaded to do one at a time).  Enjoy!
