Happy 1st Birthday, Louisa!
I simply cannot believe that my baby is 1, ONE! You never believe it when people tell you how fast time flies when this happens or when that happens, but man is it true. I just can't believe how much has happened in the last year and how much Louisa has changed!
She is officially 21.5 pounds and 31 inches long! Her car seat is facing forward and she stands firmly on her own with no help (she can stand from a squatting position without help)! She has taken a few steps, but nothing I would call walking yet. Louisa can clap (finally!), she can say the following words: Mama, Dada, dog, bye-bye, and she will say woof woof when you ask her what a dog says. She points to my nose when I ask her where Mama's nose is. She loves music and dances when she hears it. Louisa quit baby food and the bottle cold turkey while we were home in Charleston and will eat ANYTHING, literally! She is no longer nursing or drinking formula, she is on 2% milk. Her favorite fruit right now is canteloupe, (which only recently replaced bananas as her favorite). Louisa feeds herself with her fingers, but hasn't quite figured out the whole spoon thing yet. She does like to play with her spoon, and sometime I'll help her use it and she likes that.
Anyway, we cel
ebrated in style and had a cute little cupcake and ice cream party for Louisa on her birthday. Louisa had her first cake and LOVED it--we had to take it away because she was just devouring it. Needless to say, the back-up birthday outfit definitely came in handy. The neighborhood children and a few other friends of Louisa's came to help us celebrate and sing "Happy Birthday" to Louisa and we all just had a great time! Louisa loved opening her birthday gifts and really had a lot of fun opening most of them. Mama and Dada helped open a few. Below are some pictures of the day so you can see how much fun we had...I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE SHE'S ONE!
