What an Easter weekend we had! Although Louisa missed her Dada--he was off to Charleston for a wedding all weekend, we had a fun time! The fun started on Friday morning with Louisa's first Easter Egg Hunt and lunch with friends.
We had all planned for warm weather, the wind had other ideas. One dad at the party said: "Well, moms, the kids look great, but they are all freezing!" We did our best to keep them running around and warm, but it was pretty chilly by the end of the afternoon.

Louisa was a pro egg-hunter from the start, fil
ling her basket quickly! Of course, things changed slightly once she realized there were treats in the eggs--then it was all about getting the egg open and getting the chocolate in her tummy! It was so much fun to celebrate with friends old and new.Saturday started with another Easter Egg Hunt at Second Presbyterian. A beautiful day--what a nice change from Friday. The sun was shining and it was the perfect day to be outside having fun with friends! Louisa brought in a good haul again and even took a turn jumping in the moon bounce! She loved it, jumping around with her friend, Louise, and squealing with laughter the whole time. Too bad I couldn't get that on video, it was too much fun to watch! Then we sat down for a picnic lunch from Chik-Fil-A. While chicken nuggets is generally a favorite, chocolate was much more appealing.
Then it was home for a quick nap before our neighborhood Easter Party. What fun we had there too! It all started with an Easter Parade with kids riding their bikes, trikes, and being pulled in
wagons! We paraded around the neighborhood and headed back to the start so we could have our Easter Egg Hunt. Well organized and separated into age groups, we had so much fun searching for eggs. Louisa took in a smaller haul
this time as she decided the best approach was to open each egg as she found it. Of course, how many eggs didn't matter this time, it was all about the chocolate! We had a great lunch and Louisa boogied with all the big kids to Alvin and the Chipmunks on the front stoop. Let me tell you, her dance moves are really coming along--she can groove all night long! We are blessed to live in a close-knit, friendly, and fun neighborhood and are thankful for the friendships that we have made here in Memphis.
Of course, that wasn't the end of Easter weekend for us...Easter morning brought a ba
sket from the Easter Bunny! What a fun surprise and not only was there a bunny in the basket, but EGGS too! Needless to say, Louisa threw open those eggs first and didn't even care that the m&m's flew all over the place. She quickly picked each one up and threw it in her mouth before QP could realize that there was food on the floor. I finally got the eggs out of sight so that we could get ready for church. Louisa had fun in the nursery and I joined good friends for the service. The sanctuary looked so pretty, Easter Lillys were everywhere.
After church we headed out to Germantown to have Easter lunch with my sweet friend, Lauren and her family. It was so nice to be included and I loved meeting her mother and brother. We were surprised with an Easter Egg Hunt when we got there. It was so much fun and Louisa loved the chance to hunt again. We had ham and turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, and fruit for lunch, it was delicious! Louisa loved the ham and strawberries especially. Of course, chocolate chip cookies made for a perfect ending.
It was off from Easter lunch to the airport to pick up Dada. Louisa was so excited when she saw him. We headed home and got to fill each other in on our weekends. I was sad that we had missed so much fun in Charleston, but so glad that we had such good friends helping us celebrate Easter here in Memphis.
