Happy Thanksgiving 2009!

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1

I am Thankful for a wonderful, funny, happy, loving husband and an (almost) perfect marriage.  I am thankful for two healthy, happy, beautiful children.  I am thankful for my family.  I am thankful for Alex's family.  I am thankful for my friends (near and far, mostly far these days).  I am thankful for a loving and forgiving God who gave his only son, Jesus, who died for us and our sins.  I am thankful that I am able to stay home and be a mama to my two beautiful children.

Tres pulling Chisolm's ear--sneaky little fellow.  Nobody noticed until we looked at the pictures.  All the cousins sitting together with Liam in time-out (poor little guy).

Tres goofing off (again... :).  Great-Aunt Francie jumping into the fun.

Thanksgiving was a beautiful day in Charleston.  The rain finally broke and while brisk, there was a clear blue sky as far as the eye could see.  Alex's flight was supposed to arrive at 10:30 that morning which would give us plenty of time to pick him up from the airport and relax a bit before we went to Thanksgiving dinner with my family.  Of course, the airlines had other plans for him.  Apparently, fog rolled into Charlotte, NC early that morning and all flights were delayed.  Alex's ended up being cancelled.  They were loaded on and off the plane, sat on the tarmac for a while, then returned to the gate area indefinitely.  We weren't sure that we were going to see Dada on Thanksgiving and were pretty certain that he wouldn't make it to Thanksgiving dinner.  But Alex happened to notice some couples suddenly running away from his gate.  He decided after the 3rd couple ran down the hallway that he should check into what was going on.  He walked around the corner and there was a UsAir agent standing there, no line.  He walked up, told her he was trying to get to his family in Charleston, SC.  She looked at her computer, and said there was a Delta flight leaving in 3 minutes and if he could get there before the plane left, he would be in Charleston by 1:30!  I wasn't there, but I think Alex ran faster than he knew he could.  He made the flight and we were all so happy to have him join us just as we were getting ready to sit down the Thanksgiving dinner!  A big thank you to Keepa for holding dinner a little late for him, we really appreciated it!

Louisa had a wonderful time, she ate sweet potato pie, chicken fingers (this was at the country club folks, they had a buffet so everyone was happy!), mac and cheese (her new favorite), and ice cream!  After dinner, she and Gigi chased each other around and around and around (you get the idea) the big room until it was time to head over to Thanksgiving dinner with Alex's family.  Anne and Nick hosted dinner for their families and Alex's family.  It was such a nice dinner and there were more children for Louisa to play with!  Alex decided to stay for a cigar while I took the children back to Lucky's house for naps before the traditional bowling event Thanksgiving night (my family has gone bowling every Thanksgiving for probably 20 years!  It is loads of fun!).

It was a fun-filled, full packed day.  We had so much fun visiting with family, eating, playing, eating, napping, eating, bowling, eating...
