Fall 2008--Winter 2009

Well, it's been quite some time since I've posted something. Louisa and I made the trek home to Charleston for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful week with family and friends that ended with the baptism of my newest nephew, Thomas! We then made the long drive back to Memphis to get ready for our big Christmas trip to Club Med in Mexico with the Colemans!

Mexico was just wonderful, so much fun and what a wonderful break from the FREEZING cold weather of Memphis. The week went by too quickly and all too soon we were back home in 11 degree weather. Alex worked very hard on his last week of A&P to finish the sunroom and he did it! It looks fantastic and is a great room that we actually use now! His ability to take on these huge projects continues to amaze me as he makes beautiful furniture and renovations on our home. Oh, while on A&P Alex was also able to finish the dining room table. It is so beautiful, I love having it in our house to look at everyday!

Well, now Alex is back to the grind. He working at LeBonheur on his pediatric rotation now. Louisa and I miss having her daddy home everyday, but luckily, the kids around town haven't been getting many injuries and Alex is home most evenings by 5! He will be at LeBonheur through March and then he starts his Hand rotation. He will do hand for 6 weeks, then switch to foot and ankle for 6 weeks and then his 3rd year is over--WOW how time flies! I can't believe that we are already starting to look into fellowships and starting to think about where we will settle down for good!

Oh, other exciting news--Louisa has started preschool! She is going one day a week for now and although she has only been twice, she really seems to be enjoying it! Her teachers are so sweet and I think it is good for her to interact with other children her age more often and consistently. I also think it will be nice for her to have a day away from home each week once her baby brother arrives. Friday they celebrated Valentine's Day at school and with the help of her teachers, Louisa made me the most adorable card with her handprint on it. It was such a fun surprise and I love having it up in our house! On a side note, although it is nice to have the day to run errands and get things done, I almost didn't know what to do with myself the first day she went!

I am already 27 weeks along with Baby Boy Coleman. He is kicking around and moving all of the time. I am really excited for our next doctor's visit as we get our 3D/4D ultrasound (I have the most wonderful doctor who gives each of his patients a look at the 3D/4D u/s!). It is amazing to see your baby and actually have somewhat of an idea of what he will look like! I knew what Louisa's precious nose would look like before I ever met her, how cool! Of course, this all means that time is FLYING by and this little guy is going to be here before we know it. We are going to move Louisa to the current guest room and keep her current room as the nursery. We are going to have a yard sale to purge lots of stuff we have and don't use, but I have to wait until after the yard sale to get started on her new room. I'm starting to get a little nervous, but Alex assures me that we will get it all finished before the little man arrives. I am excited for Louisa's move, it will be nice to have her in a bigger room where she can play with all of her toys when she wants to!

Well, that's most of the catch-up for now. Louisa and I are heading to Charleston tonight for the week and are really excited to visit family and friends one last time before the baby arrives. Gotta get packing...
